My love for dogs began when I was eight years old, taking my Weimeraner (Frea) to puppy classes with my dad. She very quickly became my best friend and we went everywhere together. My adoration for dogs grew more and more but my life took me on a very different path into a career in education. After leaving university, I immediately immersed myself back into the world of dogs and welcomed a new friend into my life.  However, after spending 15 years as a teacher I realised that I wasn't achieving my dream.

My new Hungarian Vizsla (Cali) became the perfect companion as my love for hiking in the countryside and the coastal paths became even more enjoyable with a friend like her by my side. Initially I set a target of walking the circumference of the earth and a few years ago we surpassed this totalling over 29,000 miles together making many great memories along the way.

After deciding to make that switch in careers I began my journey into the fantastic world of dog training and the myriad pleasures associated with working with such amazing animals. During my career I have had the opportunity to work with hundreds of dogs, all with their own unique personalities and complex needs.

I was extremely lucky to begin my dog training career with the biggest and best residential training company in the UK, and under the tutelage of one of the best dog trainers in the country,  I very quickly developed into a senior trainer. During this time, I trained dogs for families, celebrities and royalty around the world and have developed a plethora of methods and techniques to not only train dogs, but also to provide lifelong help and support to clients.

I am experienced in providing high quality obedience, companion dog training, family protection dogs, and dealing with highly reactive behaviours in dogs who have struggled to cope with their own fear and anxiety. Helping these dogs adjust and adapt has been the most rewarding thing I have ever done, really inspiring and motivating me to continue my journey and become the best trainer I can be.

As a dog trainer I have extensive experience; over 9,000 documented training hours. This has been gained working with a wide variety of dog breeds and behaviours from all over the world.  My experience includes 1:1 training, group classes, residential training, protection dogs, assistance dogs, and behaviour rehabilitation.

I am an expert in training and rehabilitating dogs with problematic behaviours and severe aggression, anxiety and fear. I particularly excel in training dogs with aggression towards people or other dogs and being able to change a dog's mindset from negativity and aggression towards calm and fulfilled is, personally, the greatest feeling in the world. Saving dogs from euthanasia and helping them live a long happy life is extremely rewarding.

My love for dogs has always been a huge part of who I am. Over the years, that love naturally grew into a genuine passion for understanding them on a much deeper level. My journey really began with my own dogs.

We rescued a Beagle named Bolo from Beagle Welfare, and working with him opened my eyes to the

importance of patience, consistency, and clear communication. Beagles are known for their strong scent drive and independence, but through dedicated training, I was able to build a reliable off-lead recall with him; something I’m incredibly proud of.

Later, I welcomed my German Shepherd, Leni, into my life. Living and training with a GSD further strengthened my interest in breed psychology, drives, and working ability. Through both Bolo and Leni, I

developed not just practical handling skills, but a deeper respect for how genetics, temperament, and

environment shape every dog differently.

After meeting Luke whilst out on a walk one day, I realised he had the greatest job in the world and I

instantly wanted to learn more about dog training. The friendship I formed with Luke and the combined passion that we share became the foundation for us creating the Aspiring Dog Trainer Program at Prodigy K9. I quickly enrolled as the first participant and have now gained hands-on experience and structured guidance in all aspects of balanced dog training. I have also deepened my awareness of how body

language, energy and positioning create clarity and trust between handler and dog. My passion for

working with dogs has grown into a commitment to understanding them at a much deeper level. Being part of this program has elevated my understanding of what it truly means to train a dog properly!

Under the guidance of Luke, I learned not just the “how,” but the “why” behind every method. His mentorship helped me develop a clearer understanding of canine behaviour, learning and how their minds work. Additionally, I have developed much better handling skills and now feel much more confident working with a plethora of behaviours, breeds and common problems that owners face. Studying breed psychology and behaviour has given me a much clearer understanding of how genetics, drives, and natural instincts

influence a dog’s reactions, decision-making, and training progression. This has helped me approach each dog as an individual, adapting techniques to suit their temperament rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Luke has not only taught me a multitude of ways to train dogs, but also explained which methods to avoid and why.

Throughout the Aspiring Trainer Programme I was especially drawn to the training of protection dogs. I have always been passionate about helping dogs build confidence, control, and stability, particularly when transitioning from a family pet to a reliable family protection dog, and under Luke's expert guidance I now feel that I have the knowledge to pursue this further.

My dog training journey has only just begun but I now know how to develop dogs that can switch roles

appropriately: calm and trustworthy in the home, yet focused and dependable when protection is required. Upon completing the programme, I now work for Prodigy-K9 on a voluntary basis, continuing to shadow Luke and getting involved in sessions to further my development and understanding.

For me, good dog training is about mastering balance and producing dogs that are obedient, confident, and mentally strong, while always maintaining fairness, clarity, and respect throughout the training process.

Since an early age I always knew my purpose was to support and care for animals. As a child growing up with dogs of different breeds and temperaments it made me realize just how special every dog can be,

regardless of their background or their personality.

I have a strong passion for animal welfare and this doesn't just apply to dogs: I also have a horse called Ziggy and a turtle called Toby. For me, animals are part of our family and I treat all animals as if they were my own. I take pride in knowing that your dogs receive the love, care and attention they need. This passion led me to Prodigy-K9 and after learning more about canine communication, behaviour and training via their Aspiring Trainer Programme, I now work part-time here focussing mainly on walking and day care. It's given me the opportunity to pursue my passion for working with dogs and to also develop my knowledge and understanding further.

Witnessing the transformation of each dog and seeing what they can really achieve is what makes this job so fulfilling. It's a privilege to be part of Prodigy-K9 and also part of each dogs development into fantastic companions.
